Annual Day Indian dancing

23012009012

This particular dance is about Krishna teasing the milkmaids.

Indian house-warming

While searching for a quiet apartment (ideally with sunset view, I wish) we were invited into an apartment warming party.  This involved lots of spice decorating – see pic.  If anyone can fill us in on this then do tell by adding a comment below.  Thanks!

Jex and Evie at a local Indian house-warming

Check out those vines!

Yes, it’s true – India does grow this heavenly nectar.  I start work on Monday 12th at Sula wines (www.sulawines.com) in the Marketing department but before then I just need to get my head around Indian business etiquette; how to feed my children oh and how block out the sound of the car horns at 11pm.  Joy!

vino!

First encounter with s-p-i-c-e

On the journey from Mumbai to Nashik we stopped off at a restaurant for some local fare washed down with a glass and a half of Kingfisher beer.  So-far-so-good.  1st day in India

A beautiful week in the Alps

We’ve just returned from a week in La Clusaz, in the Aravis region near Annecy.

Mostly the weather and snow was like this:

Evie and Jex, ready to ski

And of course the kids had a great time: both graduating from Marmottons Ski School. They are now competent snowploughers. Jex can make it down from Crêt du Loup unaided, which is no mean feat.

After an epic drive back across Europe we’re frantically repacking all our backs to dash to the airport this afternoon.

Next stop, balmy Mumbai!

The removal process has started

Today marks the beginning of the next chapter in the Pearce family travels.  Our Dublin house for only another 10 days or so is now minus the garden furniture, my entire wine collection  and three keyboards, oh and not forgetting a cherished sofabed from pre-babe days.  The subtle emptiness left behind is enough to make me realise that actually this is really happening – all those months of planning are now coming to a head.  Next stop India (via Devon and French Alps).

We’re going to use Flickr to store our photos from our adventures. Here’s one from a few months ago to get started with.
